Dr. Stephen M. Kay graduated with distinction from the University of Toronto in 1994 with an Honours degree in Cell and Molecular Biology. He then pursued his dental training at the University of Michigan, School of Dentistry in Ann Arbor, Michigan where he graduated with a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree in 1998. Following graduation, Dr. Kay completed a hospital-based dental residency programme at the Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. There he received advanced training in anesthesia including IV sedation and use of nitrous oxide ("laughing gas"), as well as experience in the management of dental trauma, operating room dentistry, and care of special needs patients. In 1999 Dr. Stephen Kay returned to Toronto to start a general and cosmetic-based practice. In addition to his private practice, Dr. Stephen Kay is a clinical instructor at the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto in the Department of Periodontics. He is a licensed dentist through the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario and is a member of the Ontario Dental Association and the Canadian Dental Association. Dr.Kay is a Past President of the Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity, Toronto Alumni Chapter and is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry where he is pursuing Fellowship status. Dr. Kay enjoys spending time outside the office attending numerous continuing education courses locally and abroad and participating in various community events around the city with his family.
Dr. Stephen Kay practices general, family and cosmetic dentistry and is pleased to provide a wide range of dental services for adults and children. These include: regular check-ups and cleanings, crowns, bridges, dentures, fillings, root canal treatments, and extractions. He also has a great interest in and experience with the latest dental cosmetic technologies such as tooth whitening, metal-free ceramic crowns, porcelain veneers and tooth replacement procedures such as implants. Dr. Kay has trained in the Straumann ITI, Nobel Biocare, and Astra Tech Dental Implant Systems.

Dr. Melvyn Allan Kay is a graduate of the University of Toronto, Faculty of Dentistry in both its Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) Program and its post-graduate specialty program in Paediatric Dentistry (Dip. Paedo). His experience and background include general dentistry but his area of specialization for more than 50 years has been dentistry for infants, children and adolescents. Dr. Melvyn Kay has vast experience in providing well-child dental check-ups, preventive care, fillings and crowns, pulp therapy, extractions, tooth eruption guidance, orthodontics and treating dental injuries. Dr. Kay also has extensive experience in dental treatment for special needs patients of all ages and expertise in behaviour modification and management in the dental environment.
Dr. Kay has been established in the same location in Toronto, North York since beginning his practice and transitioned to his new role as Consultant in Paediatric Dentistry at Kaydental.
Dr. Melvyn Kay maintains his licence with the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario (RCDSO), and memberships in the Canadian Dental Association, Ontario Dental Association, Canadian Society of Dentistry for Children, Canadian Academy of Paediatric Dentistry, the American Academy of Paediatric Dentistry and the International Association of Dentistry for Children, the Toronto East Dental Society and the Ontario Society of Paediatric Dentistry where he is a past president. Dr. Kay also is a member of the Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity where he is a past president and, where for many years, served on the Executive Committee. Dr. Kay has attended numerous continuing education courses in Canada and internationally, including training in the use of nitrous oxide ("laughing gas") sedation. He is a past member of the clinical teaching faculty of the University of Toronto, Faculty of Dentistry Department of Paediatric Dentistry.
Dr. Kay remains committed to the importance of regularphysical exercise. He supports numerous community efforts and, as an avid fan of Bluegrass music, "picks" at his five-string banjo whenever he has the chance. Dr. Kay and his wife Carolyn, a dental hygiene educator, are the proud parents of Stephen and Gina, and Joanne and Kevin, and the adoring grandparents of four grandchildren.

Dr. Leila got her DDS degree from Iran. After working for two years as a general dentist, she realized her passion for working with children. Following a three-year Masters program in Pediatric Dentistry in Iran, she practiced for seven years as a pediatric dentist there. After coming to Canada, she completed a three-year program at the University of Toronto to obtain her MSc in Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Leila is a Board-Certified Specialist in Pediatric Dentistry and a member of AAPD (American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry), CAPD (Canadian Academy of Pediatric Dentistry), OSPD (Ontario Society of Paediatric Dentists), CDA (Canadian Dental Association) and ODA (Ontario Dental Association).
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Leila loves spending time with her family. She also loves watercolor painting, photography, reading, cooking and playing tennis.Back to Top

Anita started working at Kaydental over 20 years ago after graduating from the George Brown College Dental Hygiene program. In her spare time, she serves as secretary for the Toronto North Dental Hygienists' Society as part of her commitment to personal and professional growth and ongoing learning and development.
