Dr. Melvyn Kay
Dr. Melvyn Allan Kay is a graduate of the University of Toronto, Faculty of Dentistry in both its Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) Program and its post-graduate specialty program in Paediatric Dentistry (Dip. Paedo). His experience and background include general dentistry but his area of focus for more than 25 years has been dentistry for infants, children and adolescents. Dr. Kay has been established in the same location in Toronto, North York since beginning his practice, and is pleased to continue to serve the needs of children of all ages, from all areas of the city and beyond.
Dr. Melvyn Kay is licensed by the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario (RCDSO), and is a member of the Canadian Dental Association, Ontario Dental Association, Canadian Society of Dentistry for Children, Canadian Academy of Paediatric Dentistry, the American Academy of Paediatric Dentistry and the International Association of Dentistry for Children. He is a member of the Toronto East Dental Society and past president of the Ontario Society of Paediatric Dentistry where he continues to maintain active membership. Dr. Kay has attended numerous continuing education courses in Canada and internationally, including training in the use of nitrous oxide ("laughing gas") sedation. He is a member of the clinical teaching faculty of the University of Toronto, Faculty of Dentistry's Department of Paediatric Dentistry. Dr. Kay is a member of Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity, and for many years, served as a member of the Executive Committee, and presently as a Senator.
Dr. Kay, a long-standing member of Mayfair Racquet Club where he plays squash and trains several times each week, is also committed to numerous community efforts and, as an avid fan of Bluegrass music, "picks" at his five string banjo whenever he has the chance. Dr. Kay and his wife Carolyn, a dental hygiene educator, are the proud parents of Stephen and Gina, and Joanne and Kevin, and the doting, adoring grandparents of four grandchildren.
Dr. Melvyn Kay provides a full range of dental services for infants, children and adolescents. These include: well-child dental check-ups, preventive care, fillings and crowns, pulp therapy, extractions, tooth eruption guidance, orthodontics and treating dental injuries. Dr. Kay also has extensive experience in dental treatment for special needs patients of all ages and expertise in behaviour modification and management in the dental environment.
